Rapid Response for Charlesworth Veterinary Surgery

Client: IEM

Location: Charlesworth Veterinary Surgery, Broadleys, Clay Cross, S45 9JN

harlesworth Veterinary Surgery, Broadleys, Clay Cross, S45 9JN

Challenge:

On a late Friday afternoon, we received an urgent call from the veterinary surgery. They had been let down by another contractor who failed to install two critical expansion vessels as promised, leaving the boiler system without pressure. The practice was facing a weekend without heating or hot water—a critical concern for any veterinary facility.

Solution

Understanding the urgency, our engineer was on-site by 8 PM. We quickly diagnosed the issue, repressurized the system, and restored heating and hot water over the weekend, ensuring minimal disruption to the practice. By Monday, an uplift was approved to replace just **one expansion vessel**, as our thorough inspection revealed that the previous contractor had likely overestimated the requirements.

Outcome

The new expansion vessel was installed the following Tuesday, and the system was left in full working order. Not only did we resolve the immediate issue, but we also saved the client unnecessary costs. The client was extremely satisfied with our quick response and cost-effective approach.

Emergency Heating Restoration at Long Barn Supported Living

Client: Nirvana

Location: Long Barn Supported Living, Beare Green, RH5 4PU

Challenge:
At 3:40 PM, we received an emergency call regarding a heating outage at a property that had just received a 1,000L oil delivery. Despite the oil delivery, the boiler wouldn’t fire up, leaving the site without heating. Upon investigation, our engineer discovered a more complex issue: the oil tank had been sitting unused for so long that it had accumulated dirt and water, contaminating the system.

Solution:
Our OFTEC-certified engineer arrived promptly by 6 PM. Recognizing the severity of the contamination, we coordinated with the client to return and fully clean the oil tank. The process involved:

  • Removing residual dirt, water, and old oil from the tank.
  • Thoroughly cleaning the system to prevent future faults.
  • Refilling the tank with clean oil and ensuring safe operation.

Outcome:
We left the property with a fully functional heating system and a clean oil supply. Our proactive approach to addressing the contamination saved the client from potential long-term issues that might have been overlooked by others. The client was impressed by our expertise and commitment to quality.
